The national dish in Estonia is the pirukad (related to the pierogi) which are pastry pockets filled with vegetables and meat.
The Finnish version of the stuffed pastry is the Karjalanpiirakat -- a baked pastry made with rye flour and filled with rice pudding or mashed potatoes.
Piragis (singular pirags) are baked dough rolls filled with bacon, ham and spices. Piragis are usually served cold although they can also be eaten warm.
